Choosing a Ski Holiday in Europe

There are many areas you can visit if you want to take a ski holiday in Europe. There are many countries that have fantastic ski terrain that are ideal for winter sports. For many years people only traveled to France, Switzerland, Austria, Andorra and Italy. Today people take a ski holiday wherever they can find mountains covered in snow.

The most popular ski destination of them all is the French Alps. France has close proximity to many countries and is famous for its ski chalets. The top ski chalets in the world can be found in the French Alps; Chamonix, Alpe D'Huezs, Val D'Iseres, Courchevel, Tignes and Meribel. The chalets were built to facilitate those that wished to take a ski holiday.

Austria is the second most popular ski holiday destination, mainly due to its picturesque scenery and excellence in service and quality. You will be able to find a resort for all ski levels. Austria offers world class skiing and fantastic apr?s skiing.

Some of the highest, most rugged and toughest skiing can be found in the Swiss is Alps. The chalets were built around mountain villages so there is a vast array of culture to experience besides skiing. This makes Switzerland's ski areas unique to those in France. The Swiss Alps is for the experienced and advanced skier so if you are just beginning you may need to gain more experience and confidence before skiing in Switzerland.

Italian has some excellent ski areas, in the Alps and Dolomites in northern Italy. Italian skiing is also less expensive than skiing in Switzerland, France and Austria. Italy is ideal for the beginning or less confident skier and also has the most amount of ski runs found in Europe.
