Cheap Flights From London to Frankfurt Are Easy to Find

By Donald Bannantyne

One of the must-see cities that tourists should see when they visit Europe is Frankfurt, Germany's fifth largest city. In Frankfurt there are lots of historical buildings, museums, grand churches, opera houses, and modern skyscrapers that can literally take your breath away.

But you probably don't want to walk round a city from dawn to dusk - an excellent way of 'chilling out' at the end of a long day is to experience Frankfurt's nightlife. We found may excellent bistros in the city, but there were restaurants for most tastes - and nightclubs for most tastes too!

Frankfurt has so much to offer, you shouldn't have too much difficulty finding something that you like. It's ideal for a weekend break - but before you put Frankfurt in your itinerary, where can you find cheap flights from London to Frankfurt?

-- Flight Carriers That Fly From London to Frankfurt --

One of the airlines that fly from London to Frankfurt and back on a regular basis is Swiss International. Although they're a fairly recent addition to the pan-European air service, they're quickly becoming popular. Although Swiss International might not be that well known in the UK they're actually the biggest airline in Switzerland.

BA (British Airways) is another airline which flies directly between Frankfurt and London. The biggest airline in the United Kingdom, BA has to be one of the most widely recognised airlines in the world. In fact, any big international airport that doesn't offer British Airways flights is probably in the minority.

A third flight operator that I'd like to take a look at BMI - otherwise known as British Midland Airways. BMI also offer regular flights from London to Frankfurt. Another international carrier, BMI actually carry more than 10% of all passengers that leave and airport in London.

The fifth biggest airline in the world is Lufthansa - Deutsche Lufthansa. Lufthansa are another airline that flies between London and Frankfurt. Lufthansa is of course Germany's biggest airline.

-- Departure Times For Flights From London to Frankfurt --

Swiss International has regular flights between Frankfurt and London. Flight times at the moment are 12.25, 18.00 and 20.40 although those times may be different, depending on when you are reading this article.

British Airways flies earlier, its first flight leaving at 7:25 in the morning. Last flight is at to 6:35pm.

An even earlier option is BMI - it's first flight leaves at an eye watering 6.25am! Further BMI flights leave at 9:05 am, 11:50 am, 2:15 pm, 5:05 pm, 6:05 pm, 7:05 pm, and 8:05 pm which means that BMI probably offer the most flying time options. Lufthansa offers fairly similar flying times.

-- Cheapest Tickets and Departure/Arrival Airports --

The cheapest ticket prices at the time of writing were through Swiss Airlines, return prices coming out at a little more than 100. Swiss Airlines flies from London Heathrow Airport, flying directly to Frankfurt International Airport.

The cheapest single ticket for British Airways to fly from London to Frankfurt starts at just 50. Like Swiss Airlines, departure airport is London Heathrow with arrival airport being Frankfurt International.

The other 2 airlines that we highlighted - BMI and Lufthansa - also fly between Heathrow and Frankfurt international. Your main considerations should be time of flight or cost - and for course you'll be much more likely to find cheap flights from London to Frankfurt if you book as far in advance as possible. - 29948
