A River Cruise On The Rhine

By Jason Myers

Cruise the Rhine and enjoy lesser-known journeys that you'll not see on a big cruise ship. This is a chance to see the sights all of the way from the Alps to a bold adventure into the countries along the North Sea.

When you take a river boat cruise you will see the way in which the people of these areas live in this part of the planet. The river cruise ships provide a much more private and up-close look at these lands than a sea cruiser could ever provide.

Rhine river cruises offer the convenience of a smaller ship so that the waterways that are too small for ocean liners can be accessed. Often only carrying about 2 hundred passengers, these ships are one of the best methods to really experience the area. Rather than seeing mostly water all of the time, you'll actually see rustic areas where hamlets have been in existence for quite some years.

If comparing the river ship cruises to ocean liner cruises, the speed is much slower, which allows you the chance to see the sights that are frequently missed. When you pass the old-world hamlets of Cochem and on to Cologne, these will be good points to pick up some mementos of your trip to take home.

If you decide this kind of cruise is for you, this is a chance to have a different experience than what's found on the ocean cruises. If it is a sight-seeing tour or a beautiful river boat cruise, you'll have an adventure that will stay with you for a number of years. Moonlit nights and the lull of the river will be one of the finest times you may ever have in your life. Remember to use a camcorder or digital compact camera to record your cruise. - 29948
