River Cruises In Spain

By Jason Myers

Over the last three decades Barcelona Spain has become one of Europe's biggest and most traveled Cruise harbors. Because of its unique position overlooking the famous Mediterranean, most Cruises starting Spain departing Barcelona are Mediterranean cruises going to other docks in Spain, Turkey, Italy (particularly Rome and Venice), France, and Greece (Athens). A number of transatlantic voyages also leave from the city, and a limited number of northern European journeys also begin from this northern Mediterranean port.

Cruise ships are normally moored at either of the following destinations, including berths being assigned upon the day of arrival.

Expedition lengths start from 3 to 15 nights, with the majority being seven-night cruises from Barcelona of both one-way or round-trip itineraries. Shorter options are nearly always roundtrip from Barcelona with only one or two docks of call, while seven day voyages provide a big range of destinations to select from. Pullmantur Cruises have announced a new journey sailing from Malaga Spain consisting of dates in September October and November.

Royal Caribbean also has five night voyages from Malaga on Navigator of the Seas departing in October and November. These cruises are huge value as they come with the all-inclusive system onboard-therefore there are no nasty surprises when you come to pay for your onboard account. Voyages from Spain may be purchased on a cruise only basis or as a package with flights and transfers.

Many people prefer the cruise only option as it provides them more options to include a hotel stay for instance and also the possibility to save money. This money can be paid on other luxury services. - 29948
